Who requires this qualification?
Any business selling alcohol, including small pubs, retailers, large night clubs, cafés, restaurants, hotels and sports facilities may need trained security staff qualified as door supervisors who hold a SIA licence. A level 6 award for door supervisors in the private security industry qualification is required by law for an individual to apply for a SIA licence to work as a door supervisor.
What does the qualification cover?
The qualification is divided into 4 units.

1) Working in the Private Security Industry.
2) Working as a Door Supervisor in the Private Security Industry.
3) Conflict Management in the Private Security Industry.
4) Physical Intervention Skills in the Private Security Industry.
How are you assessed?
This qualification is assessed by practical assessments and multiple-choice examinations.
How old do I need to be to join the course?
Minimum age of 18 years old.
Do I need a valid First Aid qualification before starting the course?
Yes, all learners must hold a valid First Aid certificate which has a minimum of 12 months before expiry from date of course.
